Adrenal cancer is a condition that occurs when abnormal cells form in or travel from other organs to the adrenal glands. Our body has two adrenal glands, each one located above the kidneys. This cancer usually occurs in the outermost layer of the glands, also called adrenal cortex, and generally appears as a tumour. There are two types of tumours, a cancerous tumour is called an adrenal cortical carcinoma, and a noncancerous tumour is called a benign adenoma. Usually, cancers of the breast, stomach, kidney, skin, and lymphoma are most likely to spread to the adrenal glands.

When the adrenal glands start excess secreting of adrenal hormones like androgen, estrogen, cortisol, and aldosterone, it shows the presence of cancer. It is easier to spot in children than adults, because excessive hormone production is more visible during puberty like excessive pubic, underarm, and facial hair growth, an enlarged penis, an enlarged clitoris, large breasts in boys and early puberty in girls, high BP, high sugar, depression, weight gain, irregular periods etc., Adrenal cancer is treated by 3 ways either surgery, chemotherapy or radiation therapy depending on the severity of cancer.
